On March 3rd, as part of the 26th Contemporary Art Conservation Conference organized by the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the BISS project was presented. The initiative, co-funded by the European Union and led by the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí, brought together professionals from the field to share knowledge, experiences, and current research related to conservation practices.
Arianne Vanrell and Mayte Ortega, from the Conservation Department at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and senior experts on the project, introduced the BISS Standards. These standards support the study, identification, and conservation of sculpture through a system designed to promote best practices in management.
